Easter Sunday!

Happy Easter, friends! I don't know what Easter means to you, but to me it is the greatest celebration day of the year, because it's the day we celebrate Jesus rising from the grave! Today I remember what He did for me on that cross, taking upon my sin, and dying for me. But He is ALIVE and I am so grateful. Words cannot express the joy Easter brings!

Today my post is quick, because I'm at church in the morning, and then hanging with my family for the rest of the day. But here is my link-up for Sunday Social!

The XO Scarf Tutorial

Hello friends! How are you? Spring has FINALLY begun to make itself known in Nebraska, and not a minute too soon! Today I have a fun tutorial for you, perfect for spring! Yes, the days are warming up, but mornings and evenings are still chilly!! So I love a light-weight scarf for an all-day look. This tutorial will show you how you can get the coverage you desire in a scarf, without having to bulk up.

To begin, all you need is a scarf! The longer and lighter weight, the better. Start with the scarf around your neck.

Step 1:: make a loop around your neck (this is the "O" in the XO Scarf).

Your loop should be big, but make sure the ends of the scarf hang down a few inches below the loop.

Step 2:: Lift up the loop and make an X with the ends (this represents the "X" in the XO Scarf).

When you have made the X, you can let the O fall back over it.

Step 3:: lift the end that was UNDER the cross (i.e. the LEFT end in the photo above) OVER the loop.

And then adjust to your liking, making sure it looks great!

And that's all there is to it! Easy to do, and still protects your neck from the chilly wind, AND it adds some interest to your outfit! Hope you enjoy wearing your spring scarves!

Love, Allie

Influenster Sweetheart VoxBox- Not your Mother's Beach Babe Spray

I was one of the lucky ones to receive an Influenster Sweetheart VoxBox, and I was overjoyed to receive and explore my goodies! Today, I'm focusing on
Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

Okay, this is one of my new FAVORITE hair care products! i don't usually put a lot of product into my hair, because my hair is so thick. What I loved about this spray was that it didn't make my hair greasy or crunchy. Well, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves!!

It makes me feel so confident and my hair looks great! Sometimes, when you add product to your hair, the product becomes the star and overtakes your natural hair. But with the sea salt spray, it just made my hair look better! I'll definitely be purchasing from Not Your Mothers brand again!

Ooey Gooey Goodness!

Last week I made one of the yummiest and easiest desserts ever. It is quite addictive and all I gotta say is that I'm very happy we make a whole pan of these ooey gooey yummies! (I know, it's not good for the hips, but it sure is delish on the lips!)
This recipe for Caramel Bars has been in my family for years! My mom got it from my grandma, and so on. They are fabulous for any party, or just a yummy dessert at home! Last week we had a couple of snowy days where I was cooped up at home, and I really wanted to bake! So, what's a blogger to do than take pictures and post the recipe!!
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1 cup oats
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 bag Kraft Caramels
5 Tbls. evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

2. Mix the base together
Cream the butter and sugar. You can do this by hand, but I prefer the mixer, because it makes it much easier!
Add the dry ingredients
Mix until the dough forms.

3. Press most of the base into a 9x13 pan, just until it covers the bottom. Leave enough of it to sprinkle over the top.

4. Bake base in the oven for 10 minutes, until light golden brown.

5. Mix up the caramel mixture.
You can do this while the base is baking! For the caramels, I like to use the Kraft caramel bits, because you don't have to unwrap  them, like the regular caramels! Put caramels into a microwave-safe bowl, and add evaporated milk.
Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until the caramels are completely melted, and everything is smooth.

6. Layer the bars.
Once the base is out of the oven...
Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the base. NOTE: it is fine if the base is still warm! It's going back into the oven no matter what!
Then cover chocolate chips with the caramel.
Use the rest of the base to crumble on top

7. Bake 15-20 minutes, until the crumble is golden brown.

And that's it! Cut into squares and ENJOY!!
