About Me

Hey there!! I'm Allie, also known as The Gypsy Teacher. I teach abroad in Tanzania, East Africa, and share my adventures of teaching, traveling, and everyday life with you! I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Fourth Grade, and am currently in an admin position of academic coordinator. I knew I was born to teach ever since elementary school; and my heart became so full of love for the world the moment I first traveled internationally. I'm living my dream in my second home of five years - in Moshi, Tanzania.
Why Tanzania? Well, it's where God has led me. I caught wind of a small, Christian, international school needing volunteer teachers, applied, had a Skype interview, and was on a plane within a month of being accepted! My life is forever changed! God brought me to the land of safaris, Mount Kilimanjaro, and some of the most beautiful people on the planet. I've grown so much being here, both personally and professionally. I love sharing this journey with you!
As a teacher, I am passionate about creating a classroom community where we can laugh, cry, discuss, learn, love, encourage, and be together. I love engaging my students with hands-on activities and experiences that they will remember. Like I said above, I've taught many grades and have tips and tricks to share from all of my experiences! I also love sharing the things that work for me, and I hope they will work for you too!
I love Jesus, coffee, traveling (obviously!), planners, the mountains, my family and friends, photography, creating, exploring, reading, music, cooking, colorful pens, organizing, and more!
I love sharing with you all over this crazy internet world! I'd love for you to click the links to follow me on this adventure! If you have anything that you want to see, please let me know! I'm here to serve you! I love to create, chat, and build our community! Follow me on: Facebook    Instagram    TeachersPayTeachers    Etsy       Pinterest         Amazon Store

I hope to get to know you as you get to know me, and we can connect on this journey together!

  1. I look forward to reading about your journey as a teacher. I pray you will continue to follow your dream while service God! Blessings to You!

  2. Amazing and inspirational. I have been teaching for 16 years and although there are times that I need a little reminder as to why I love this profession . . . I REALLY, REALLY DO! I feel that it is my calling to teach. You will find that, through God's calling, you are going to touch so many lives. It is amazing, daunting, exhilarating, and always changing. I can't wait to follow you through this time. You are going to ROCK!

  3. I'm here to follow your blog and enjoy (vicariously) your travels. Maybe one summer I can join in and go on mission trips as well!
