Tanzania Adventure: Day 1

I'm off! I am currently en route to Moshi, Tanzania! I'm going to be trying to post a photo a day- and here's one from my first travel day!

I flew from Omaha, to Chicago, and then to Doha, Qatar! And I'm sitting in the airport writing this on my iPhone! The flights were great and I was able to sleep for most of the long 13-hour one. I have one more flight until I get to Tanzania!

God is so good, because I was planning on having to pick up my bags and go thru customs sometime between Omaha and Kilimanjaro Airport, but thankfully I didn't! He's taking care of me every step of the way.

Bedroom Decor Inspiration!

Since moving home after college two years ago, my mom and I have been trying to decorate my bedroom. We moved houses while I was at college so all I have is a random extra bed, an old dresser, and blank white walls. I am totally fine with all of that, but we are wanting to make it a little more personalized and fun! It's taken me a while to decide what exactly I want, but I have finally made up my mind (I think!!). I've been pinning away the past few weeks, because, as you know, I'm going to AFRICA NEXT WEEK! So, my lovely mom offered to decorate for me! I've been trying to give her as much inspiration as possible for what I want, and I thought I'd show you guys my vision!!

Color Scheme

My color scheme vision is grays and white with a pop of purple and lots of glam silver and mirrored pieces! My favorite neutral color is gray, and I love the combination of gray and white. It's clean, modern, yet can take a very vintage spin. I also really want a mixture of hues and textures. I want to keep things pretty simple as far as colors go, so that I can play up the textures and have that pop of purple, which is my favorite color!

Furniture Features
My first furniture piece I want to feature is a headboard. I really love the tufted look. I want a headboard where I can prop myself up against and be comfy, but still have it looking good. I also LOVE the ones that have the sides coming out too! It gives a vintage feel while still being modern.
I also want mirrored furniture pieces! I am so drawn to this style right now. I love how it can give some glam to a basic style. I also love that it's almost another texture/pattern, and it adds a special something to a room! I'm all about the juxtaposition of vintage and modern, and these pieces are exactly that!
Room Inspirations
I LOVE this room! First of all, the colors. And the bed! I also really like the wall sconces and drapes. I love how they've incorporated different textures and patterns with the pillows and bedding. It's neutral yet ethereal and I love everything about it!
I love the metallic headboard! Again with the mixture of textures, my favorite! And the nightstand is practical, while holding a fun vintage-style lamp!

Summer Nighttime Routine

Sometimes we just have to take time to pamper ourselves! Summer is always a fun time to do so, as I personally am busier than normal sometimes. Here's a peek into my bathroom and what I love to use to pamper myself in the evenings! I love using a mask, redoing my nails, shower, and getting a little bit of a gradual tan!
Can you believe summer is almost over?! What have been your favorite ways to pamper yourself this summer?
Okay, so here's the thing. If you were to choose just ONE product to purchase from my video today, make it the CLEANSING OIL!! It has CHANGED my skincare routine to be so much easier and better! My skin is less dry, yet it still gets it super clean! You guys have to try it!

Reveal and Review: Ipsy July 2014

Happy Friday friends! I hope you are having a great day. I am so excited because my birthday is one week away! I'm hoping to spend the weekend working and organizing! I also really want to see The 100 Feet Journey that opens in theaters today! It looks SO GOOD!

Today I am revealing and reviewing my Ipsy Glam Bag from last month. I meant to get this up a few days ago, but forgot about it! Oops! So, you only have a couple days to use the coupon codes below!! I really liked my bag this month. Some were winners, others were just okay, but I'm going to dish on all of it after I've spent time trying each of the products! This month was called Sensationally Sunkissed.

My favorite product of the month is the bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I received the color Divine Wine. I would repurchase another one of these in a different color because it performs really well! Ipsy is giving you guys FREE SHIPPING at Ulta.com with any bareMinerals purchase! Use code: IPSYBAREFS

I also received the POP Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer. I might repurchase this. It would be great for someone who wants a light bronzed look, without a heavy contour. You can get 25% your purchase at popbeauty.co.uk with the code POPIPSY. Love that!

The Elizabeth Mott Tints and Sass took me a bit out of my comfort zone, but I ended up liking result! I had the cherry color. Use the code: IPSYTINT for an awesome buy one get one free deal of the same product at elizabethmott.com.

Next is the Pur~lisse pur~protect essential daily moisturizer spf 30. This is a great summer moisturizer with the mid-high SPF! It is pretty pricey though, so I may try something else out from the line instead! Receive 30% off any purchase at purlisse.com  with the code: IPSYSUMMER30.

And finally, to keep my hair looking supple this summer, I received the Marrakesh Hair Care Marrakesh Endz. This was a treat for my hair, but I probably won't repurchase. You can try this treatment out as well by receiving a free professional size Marrakesh Endz with any Marrakesh Hair purchase at marrakeshhaircare.com by using the code: IPSY.

This was my second month being subscribed to the Ipsy Glam Bag, and I continue to love it! If you haven't heard about this subscription service, you pay Ipsy $10/month and they send you a bag full of beauty deluxe samples! You receive 4-5 items per month, along with a little makeup bag/pouch. The brands range from drugstore to luxury, and I am really enjoying the different things I've tried! If you want to give Ipsy a try, I definitely recommend it! You take a beauty quiz so that you get things in the bag that work for you.
Which product do you want to try? What did you get in your Ipsy Glam Bag this month?!

My Survival Crate!

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I have a fun post, all about those things I cannot live without! The fun people over at Man Crates asked me to create a list of 4-5 of my must-haves, like if I would happen to be stranded on a desert island, and was able to get a crate of goodies sent to me, what would I choose?!! So, since I am going to be deserting all I know in about two weeks, I thought I would share some of what I will be bringing with me to Africa because I wouldn't want to be without them!
These are supposed to be fun and original, not like your "BASICS"!

I have really sensitive eyes, and I can barely go a day in the sun without a pair of sunnies to shield my eyes! I also love the fashion statement they make. I have about four pairs at all times "just in case". I also go for the cheap ones because I would be DEVASTATED if I lost/broke a pair I paid more than $20 for! My favorite pair right now are these oversized cat eye shaped sunnies. They are a classic black and fit my face well! I love the oversized cat eye trend, so that would be my requested shape/size/look!
Laptop (WITH WiFi!)
I will definitely be bringing my laptop with me to Tanzania, and finding how to get wifi as soon as possible!! Wouldn't it be amazing if there was one day international wifi?! Just free wi-fi for everyone to use?! Haha, the thoughts that go through my head. Anywho, my laptop is where I can work, relax, connect with friends on social media, and though it'd be a hard choice, I would probably choose my laptop over my iPhone.
Tinted Lip Balm
My lips are constantly getting dry and dehydrated. I love tinted lip balms because they provide moisture and a bit of color! I especially like Baby Lips by Maybelline, because of their super soft texture and they keep my lips moisturized without feeling like they are going everywhere. My favorites that I'm definitely bringing are Pink Punch and Grape Vine! They have enough pigment to give my lips some life but still provide awesome moisture.
I love tea- hot, cold, with cream and sugar, HOWEVER! It is my second favorite drink, other than water. And I don't see how I could go very long without some tea. I've especially been loving chai tea lately! I love tea way more than coffee, even though coffee is still delicious.
I could go on and on, but I have to say, I could probably survive on these four things! This was a fun little challenge! If you guys want to take this on, use the hashtag #mysurvivalcrate on social media, and I can't wait to see what you choose!

Thanks again to Man Crates for this opportunity. I definitely recommend checking out their site, as it has great gift options for the men in your life!

Much Love, Allie
