And I'm planning on getting all my books from thrift stores and such! As well as waiting to spend the money! I'm just making lists of what other people can spend money on to give me for graduation :). Thanks for your advice!
Love, AllieAllie @ The Gypsy Teacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15771901874112860613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5299673734675672220.post-82150750518674874302012-03-30T23:49:33.203-05:002012-03-30T23:49:33.203-05:00If you haven't read the book The First Days of...If you haven't read the book The First Days of School by Harry & Rosemary Wong then I would. It is amazing and is how I run my classroom. It works for classroom management.

Also, you think you need a lot of stuff in your classroom but you actually need a lot less than you would think as far as supplies go. I would wait and see what the school offers before spending a ton of dough . . . I definately learned a lesson there . . hundreds of dollars unnecessarily spent.

And . . . for books I would hit up local goodwill and used book stores. I get some amazing deals on quality books from these places. I didn't start building my collection until I was settled into my classroom and I used books from the school library. My librarian lets me check out 200 - 300 books at a time. This way I could be pickier about what I spent my money on instead of trying to buy a large quantity at one time.

Best of luck to you and come check out my blog sometime! :)

Casey
Second Grade Math Maniac BlogCasey Wigginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01087820831140350394noreply@blogger.com
